The Belford Knights are the reformed 'Old Guard'. A group of friends in village who decided to raise some money for Help for Heroes last year. One thing led to another, the community got behind it and the cash poured in.

Belford Golf Club hosted the first of two mediaeval nights for charity on Saturday. Radio Newcastle presenter Sue Sweeney hoisted the evening with singer Steve Dagget also appearing. During the course of the evening Golf Club Mananger Brian Walford was knighted and admitted in to The Belford Knights as “The Black Knight Sir Golfalot”. The knights are the fundraising group in the village who raise money for Help for Heroes and the Community minibus. The cause for the night was McMillan Nurses
