Belford Matrix Group in was founded originally to bring the young people of both St Mary's and the Urskine United Reform Church together. The group is interdemoninational.

The Matrix Group recently attended the Solas festival. The festival aims to create a generous, hospitable space in Scotland where the arts can be performed and enjoyed by all. The programme also makes space for challenging debate with activists, writers and thinkers from across the political, cultural and religious spectrum.

They are a group of young people of High School age upwards of 13 years age who watch films, discuss, faith and other issues and take part in outdoor activities such as camping rock climbing, horse riding.

They also attend festivals and other events.
