Newcastle Falcons scrum half Chris Pilgrim called at St Mary's Middle School to formally "christen" their newly purchased rugby posts and equipment and then gave the boys in the various teams an excellent coaching session.

The thanks of all concerned go to Chris and to Dave Paul a member of the PTA who raised the funds to purchase the posts by organising a very successful Sportsmans Dinner. Grateful thanks also go to Gilbert Birdsall Ltd for the donation of the cement required for getting the posts into the ground!

PE teacher Mr Bell has worked tirelessly to promote rugby in the school and the boys have gained some excellent results this season thanks to his drive, enthusiasm and coaching abilities.
